Tired of the term “sovereignty”? If not, read further. If you do, just keep reading as well. Digital sovereignty is becoming ever more important in a world dominated by dependence on external non-European cloud providers. As you may have noticed, “sovereignty” has become extremely trending on social media, for good reason, but it's also tiring.

So to join this “hype train”, we would like to reemphasize that during the founding of ERA-IX in 2022, we deliberately hosted all of our workloads on our own infrastructure in local Dutch data centers. This was done by design and to further strengthen control, transparency, and continuity of our digital infrastructure.

Rather a short post, but let's not make it bigger than it is.
