ERA-IX teams up with NBIP NaWas

Doetinchem, Netherlands — 26 May 2025 — Eranium, a young, challenging and successful player in the connectivity market, announced that it has partnered up with the Dutch NBIP (Stichting Nationale Beheersorganisatie Internet Providers). With this new partnership, the NBIP will utilize Eranium's connectivity fabric to bring their DDoS-mitigation service NaWas to the ERA-IX internet exchange platform. This new strategic partnership would be NBIP's entry into Frankfurt, offering their DDoS-mitigation service to German businesses.
In just three years, Eranium managed to expand their backbone into 30+ locations for interconnection; through each of these locations, ERA-IX members will be able to arrange private, cost-effective connectivity towards the NaWas DDoS-mitigation service by NBIP. The platform will continue to expand into more locations; recent expansions include the launch of a new point of presence at NTT FRA1, Frankfurt, Germany.
With efficiency as a cornerstone of the operations at Eranium (https://www.era-ix.com/statistics), any services transported through the ERA-IX platform will also benefit from lower scope-3, indirect emissions caused by their operations. Furthermore, a physical connection towards the platform can also be utilized to get connected to the Amsterdam or Frankfurt peering LAN, enabling the port to bring even more value to the connected network. Quick turnarounds will be another advantage Eranium will bring to the space; by getting the physical connectivity set up quickly, the rest of the onboarding process can get started earlier, meaning members can get DDoS-mitigation services configured in less time than would usually be the case.
NBIP has the mission to help digital infrastructure providers meet their operational compliance requirements with services that are efficient to operate. Participants can jointly use expensive or complex facilities that they don’t need all the time through NBIP. Over the years, the organization has grown into a fixture in the Dutch internet landscape. With more than 200 participants, an international presence, and involvement in strategic European development trajectories, it has been proven that NBIP’s philosophy enjoys broad approval. Both digital infrastructure providers and public and private partners know how to find their way to NBIP.
