ERA-IX expands its footprint into Iron Mountain AMS-1
Tamer
Our team is eager to announce our expansion into new data centers in the Amsterdam region. Our previous locations were growing healthy, so in order to reach even more networks we have been focussing on new data centers to connect to our platform. Our new and existing data centers are all interconnected with each other through dark fiber operated by ourselves, this gives our platform even more fine-grained tuning to optimize the routing of traffic.
The first data center in this expansion is Iron Mountain AMS-1, in Haarlem. Originally built by EvoSwitch, Iron Mountain's AMS-1 campus is one of the largest carbon-neutral multitenant data centers in the Netherlands. Purpose-built from concrete and steel, the site has containerized modular suites to support a PUE of 1.2. The Two-story Tier III+ building has over 12,000 m² (108,000 sq feet) of raised floor space with room to expand to 40,000 square meters. Power can also be expanded to 60 Megawatts.
The second data center we connect to our platform is Qupra DC. This is a small-scale data center located in the heart of Amsterdam, formerly known as SS7 Telecom. The location is well connected to several other data centers in the Amsterdam metro.
Both new locations are tightly interconnected to our existing locations with redundant connections for optimal routing and resiliency.
